Burma green tea
Kachin state in Upper Burma (Myanmar) borders the tea
producing region of Yunnan Province in China and is close to the state of
Assam in India.
In this region in 1823, the Englishman, Robert Bruce, first discovered indigenous
tea plants. This green tea is high
grown at altitudes up to 2000 metres
above sea level.
Tea tasters use the words 'bakey' and 'toasty' to
describe the fresh vegetal
flavour of Kachin Green.
